Vascular Ultrasound Technologist

Join a dynamic team at Columbia Orthopedic Group as we seek an experienced Ultrasound Technologist. 

This position is responsible for performing ultrasound imaging for the diagnosis and treatment of venous and arterial conditions. 

The sonographer will assist an interventional radiologist with procedures and also

acquire diagnostic images. You will be responsible for the maintenance, backup procedures, operation, and training on the use of ultrasound equipment.

Monday through Thursday. 8-5pm. No Fridays, holidays, evenings, or weekend work.

We are open to full-time, part-time, and per-diem arrangements.

Essential Functions:

● Demonstrated proficiency in the performance of ultrasound procedures, including the ability to guide the VCS for Endovenous Thermal Ablation and Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy procedures.

● Performs Doppler scan and vein mapping on Deep and Superficial Venous Systems.

● Performs lower extremity arterial examinations and ABIs.

● Document findings in the electronic medical record at each visit.

● Prepares patients for procedures and explains ultrasound procedures to patients.

● Provide oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the interventional radiologist

● Maintain all US machines, including cleaning, maintenance, and transporting as needed.

● Stocks inventory and assists with inventory management.

● Other duties as assigned and incidental to the work

Physical Requirements:

● Normal vision, hearing, and/or the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

● Occasionally required to lift/carry items up to 20 pounds.

● Primarily work in a well-illuminated, climate-controlled, indoor, smoke-free medical office environment.

Education and Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree preferred

● Two years of experience performing ultrasound technology duties in a vein or vascular clinic setting preferred

● RVS, RVT, RPhS candidates with venous ultrasound experience are preferred, but we are willing to train motivated candidates with a strong work ethic.
